One important reason for starting this business was making the cost far more affordable for people. It is often such a stressful time and we wanted the cost to not add to this stress.
Our price does not come at the expense of professionalism, care and support for families.
We have only one cost because it takes away the pressure to spend more and more money and there is absolutely no pressure from us to offer more services at a price that keeps rising.
We see the most important part of a funeral is being able to focus on the loved one, support one another and to say your farewells.
The total cost is $2500.00
- Casket and transportation
- Cremation fee
- All the necessary paperwork
- Death Certificate
- Chapel use at crematorium, if wanted
- Newspaper notice placement
- Ashes personally returned to family
The crematorium does charge if people wish to use the chapel for a full service. It can hold up to 70 people and has a sound system.
If a family want a short committal service or simply to be present at the crematorium, we are happy to cover this cost. Owen is experienced in leading a short committal service (a few minutes) if the family wishes.
Long distance travel
If travel is beyond 35km of Nelson / Richmond mileage costs may need to be added. This will be discussed with you at the time.
Multiple newspaper notices
Simple Direct Funerals covers the cost of newspaper notice in the weekly papers which are the most widely read. If the family wish to have notices placed in other newspapers we can arrange that for them. We will only charge the cost from those extra notice(s), from those newspapers.
If the doctor cannot remove the pacemaker we hire a qualified person for the procedure. This costs $120.00. We will take care of all the details to do this.
For those who are eligible, there is a WINZ grant that can be applied for. You would need to do this by contacting WINZ directly or checking on their webpage.
